JonDeTech signs MoU with Chinese Sunshine Technologies regarding development of mobile application for thermal images

In December 2020, JonDeTech announced that it had received a patent for an application that can read infrared radiation to paint thermal images with a smartphone using a simpler IR sensor. Now the company has signed a declaration of intent, a so-called Memorandum of Understanding, with the China-based sensor company Shanghai Sunshine Technologies Co. about jointly developing a prototype for this application.

Sunshine Technologies Co. is an established supplier of IR sensors to, among other things, the mobile phone industry with customers such as UMIDIGI. The intended prototype, together with an IR sensor integrated into the mobile phone, will be able to display a thermal image using JonDeTech’s patented sensor solution. If this is successful, new areas of use and applications will become possible where a simple, cheap IR sensor can show high-resolution thermal images on the mobile phone. The prototype will primarily be used for market research to clarify the possibilities of commercializing this application.

– When we first communicated about the patent, we described that the application could be adapted to external IR sensors. I see this as a sign of strength and shows the innovative power that exists in the organization at JonDeTech. It is also in line with our desire to utilize our patents and software components that we have developed over the years, says Dean Tosic, CEO of JonDeTech.
